MISSION Splashes of Hope is a non-profit public charity dedicated to transforming the environments of hospitals and healthcare centers with custom designed hand-painted murals. The artwork is designed to comfort patients during treatment, healing and recovery by providing a soothing and uplifting visual focus. Each mural is designed to address the unique needs of the patients, their family and the staff that cares for them.
TODAY our artists have created thousands of murals affecting millions of viewers throughout the country, and internationally. Splashes of Hope is headquartered in New York, with chapters in Florida and Boston.
'Adopt-a-Wall' to create murals dedicated to HEALTHCARE HEROES and make a design to uplift hospitalized children
Heather Buggee created Splashes of Hope with a vision to uplift the hospital environment, inspired by an experience with a hospitalized friend to have the medical environment more conducive to the healing process. Heather is the Founder and CEO (meaning Creative Endeavors Only) of Splashes of Hope. Heather is also the Master Mural Artist at Splashes, (all hail the Queen)! One can visually see her passion and creativity through each and every mural project. As she says after every project, 'this is the best one yet!'
Sarah grew up in the art studios carrying buckets of water up and down the stairs and cleaning up messes (just like a Samurai's apprentice), and eventually began painting Splash murals. Sarah started a Splash Chapter in California and eventually came back to New York to work on the various on-going projects. Five years later, she is now the Executive Director. Although Sarah has 'suited up' for the job and has since left the art studio, she finds creativity in collaboration with the Splash Team, and expanding on new ideas and programs.
Jimmy Knapp is an ambassador and a driving force with everything Splashes: from projects, events, and teams, among the many other categories. Jimmy is a superstar in the Splash World, always on the move and one step ahead in every way. He has also driven all across the country in the Splashmobile for Splash projects: Heather and Jimmy's favorite place is Alaska, (you can actually see them daydream about their Alaskan Adventures sometimes)!
Heather and Jimmy are Sarah's parents: one big Splashtastic family!
